Git and GitHub workflows made accessible to Vibe Coders. Spend less time recovering lost changes and more time building.
Gitly gives your AI coding agent a clear set of instructions for working with Git and GitHub on your behalf. Instead of asking your agent to remember or rebuild code that used to work, Gitly helps it save versions as you go, explain what changed, and bring back a previous version when something breaks.
When you build with an AI agent, code changes fast. A prompt that adds a feature can quietly break something that worked an hour ago. Without version control, the only way back is to ask the AI to undo its changes, which costs prompts and tokens and often doesn't restore the original. Git solves this, but its commands and concepts (commits, branches, remotes) are a steep learning curve when you just want to build.
Structured version control
Your agent saves your project as named versions (commits) at meaningful moments, so there is always a known-good point to return to.
Clear Git workflows
Common tasks like saving work, trying an idea on a separate branch, and reviewing changes follow a consistent, explained process instead of ad-hoc commands.
Easier recovery
When something breaks, your agent can look through your history, find the last version that worked, and help you get back to it.
GitHub integration guidance
Step-by-step help connecting your project to GitHub, so your work is backed up online and ready to share or deploy.
Installation instructions are on the way
Verified, step-by-step instructions for each supported agent will be published here together with the public repository.
Type these to your agent in plain language. Here's what to expect.
you › This version works. Save it before we change anything else.
Expected workflow
you › The login page broke after the last few prompts. Can we go back to when it worked?
Expected workflow
you › I want to put this project on GitHub.
Expected workflow
A skill is a set of written instructions your AI coding agent can read. It tells the agent how to approach a specific kind of task, in this case working with Git.
Git is a tool that records snapshots of your project over time. Each snapshot is called a commit. Gitly guides your agent to create these snapshots, describe them in plain language, and use them to move between versions.
Your agent still runs the actual Git commands in your project. Gitly shapes how it does that: when to save, how to name things, and how to explain what is happening so you stay in control.
Repository coming soon
The source will be public on GitHub. This page will link to it.
Read what your agent is about to run before approving it. These can lose work:
git reset --hard or git checkout -- .) can discard changes that were never saved.git push --force) can overwrite history on GitHub.
